We find it difficult to look at today's feature picture without mentally adding a soundtrack of Harry Belafonte singing Island in the Sun, a song written by Harry and Irving 'Lord Burgess' Burgie (composer of the National Anthem of Barbados) for the same name 1957 film.

The picture comes from the Isthmus section of Erik Gauger's web site Notes from the Road, of which Vol.37 is the first of a two [1][2] part account of the region and its indigenous people, entitled The Kuna Indians: Settlement of Caribbean Panama.
